Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.
I have heard a number of people quip over the years. “If you want to make God laugh, just tell him your plans.” In a manner of speaking, that’s one way to rephrase Proverbs 19:20. On the other hand, it minimizes the comfort Proverbs 19 provides.
We all have plans. We all have dreams and goals. We all have wishes for life. How many have actually happened? How have you reacted to unachieved goals or foiled plans?
I pray you will find comfort in the truth that the Lord’s purpose prevails, always.
The Lord is your Savior, your friend, and your God. His will and purpose is that all his people are victorious and spend eternity in heaven. That’s His purpose for you and that purpose will always prevail. What great comfort! If something isn’t going to achieve God’s purpose for your life, he will make sure his purpose prevails. Any plans from anyone that might conflict with his purpose for his people will also not prevail.
He doesn’t laugh when you plan. He carries out his good purpose for you at all times.
God’s purpose for you will always prevail. What comfort!
