The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.

Lord God, I have these verses on the forefront of my mind today because there was another tragic shooting in a school. O Lord, I’m saddened, sickened, and frustrated at this in every possible way. Evil is everywhere. It lurks in hearts and explodes into the open.

Lord God, I’m carrying the promise of these two psalms with me today. I know you were with those who were harmed because you are always there in the darkest valley. I know you will be with them and their families because you are with those who are crushed in spirit. Why you allowed this to happen, I do not know. But I trust in your Word and promise in these two verses. That is my comfort and I pray you give those families that comfort as well.
