So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
My family likes to travel. I will admit, however, there are times I get a little scared. I get a little worried when we take off in the airplane. I have some fear when we hit some turbulence. Why? I think it has to do with the fact that I’m not in control. I am not flying. (Although I don’t know how anyway.) I don’t have my hand on the wheel. It is one of those situations in life where your life is in someone else’s hands and that can be a little scary.
Do you have moments like in your life? Are there times you feel a bit uneasy or scared for yourself or someone you love because a life is in someone else’s hands?
When that happens to me, I say a little prayer. I do that because ultimately we are in God’s hands. God holds our life, our times, and our days in his gracious hands. And for that reason, I say a little prayer before we take off. I say a prayer before my kids head off to school or head over to a friend’s house. I hope you will too.
I do that not because God needs to hear it or needs to be reminded of it. I need the reminder! My prayer is the reminder of the promise God gave to me that he holds me in his hands. I hope you’ll find comfort in a simple prayer that reminds you of God’s promise to hold you, keep you, guard you, and save you.
You are in God’s hands, all the time. And there’s no better place to be.
